Remote quality assurance and quality control leadership for vendor manufacturing across multiple projects, controlling vendors at the engineering and procurement phases from a QA/QC perspective.
Vendor evaluation encompassed review of proposals, clarification reports, and purchase orders, participation in kick-off meetings, and execution of pre-inspection meetings to confirm manufacturer qualification and alignment with client requirements, project specifications, and code obligations ahead of fabrication.
Quality system review and approval formed the core of the role — encompassing manufacturers’ quality management systems, Inspection and Test Plans, and the full suite of fabrication procedures, including WPS/PQR, welder qualification, hydrostatic and pneumatic testing, functional testing, material traceability, and painting procedures, each reviewed and finalized against project specification and code compliance.
During fabrication, scope extended to in-process inspection oversight and nonconformity resolution, reviewing and approving nonconformity reports submitted by site-based inspectors and directing corrective action to maintain compliance without on-site presence.
Final inspection responsibilities included comprehensive review of Manufacturing Data Reports and vendor dossiers — covering material certificates, procedure listings, test reports, general arrangement drawings, data sheets, engineering approvals, special tools, certificates of compliance, and nameplate verification — ensuring complete, code-compliant documentation prior to shipment release.
This remote QA/QC model delivered consistent code and specification compliance across a diverse multi-project, multi-client vendor base — from proposal review through final documentation closeout.
