CPF2 Central Processing Facility – Material & Field Inspection Control

EPC-side material and field inspection control for the CPF2 central processing facility at the Halfaya oil field, covering pressure vessels, piping, valves, and pumps across a major surface processing development.

Incoming materials were verified against approved drawings, specifications, and EN 10204 mill certificate requirements, with PMI and mechanical/destructive testing coordinated through accredited laboratories to confirm material traceability and conformity under the Project Quality Plan ahead of release to fabrication.

Field inspection spanned underground and aboveground piping, pressure vessels and towers, and pump installation across the facility.

Underground piping control covered welding, NDT, hydrotesting, coating, and backfill verification, while aboveground piping inspection extended through fabrication, erection, pressure testing, and pre-commissioning activities including reinstatement, leak testing, and purging.

Pressure vessel and tower inspection ran from foundation and alignment verification through field welding clearance, internals installation, and commissioning readiness, while pump installation control covered grouting, baseplate leveling, cold alignment, and mechanical run test witnessing.

This integrated inspection framework — spanning material receipt through mechanical completion — delivered code-compliant equipment installation and field execution across a complex, multi-discipline surface facility, safeguarding asset integrity and supporting a smooth handover to commissioning.
