Construction of Above-Ground Piping Systems

Construction of above-ground piping systems as part of one of the largest gas development projects in the world.

The scope included above-ground pipe installation, fabrication coordination, spool management, field fit-up activities, and preparation of hydrotest packages supporting pre-commissioning and mechanical completion activities across multiple process units.

Work involved coordination between construction, fabrication, QA/QC, surveying, and engineering teams to ensure piping systems were installed in accordance with project specifications, approved drawings, and construction schedules.

Activities included monitoring installation progress, supporting field execution, resolving construction interface issues, and coordinating piping works with civil, structural, and equipment installation activities.

The project was executed within a large-scale, multi-discipline construction environment involving multiple contractors and simultaneous work fronts.

Particular attention was given to maintaining construction quality, supporting hydrotesting activities, and facilitating the timely handover of completed systems for pre-commissioning and commissioning.

Close coordination between piping, civil, and survey teams was essential to maintain schedule integrity and ensure successful turnover of piping systems through mechanical completion and into commissioning.
